Environmental awareness was at the forefront for this couple and the design of their dream home, located on the shores of Lake Superior.  The two-story Craftsman-style home was built using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) which provide a more air-tight, well-insulated, energy-efficient building envelope while requiring significantly less consumption of wood for framing.  Additionally, the home features high-efficiency heating and triple-pane H-Windows.  An open floor plan provides a handicap accessible space that is also perfect for entertaining and unobstructed views of the lake.  A three-season room was designed with exposed wooden beams to create a space to display their antique canoe.
