A crumbling fishing dock, built with pollution-causing creosote treated lumber, has given way to a modern, durable and safe new pier.  Built over the remnants of a former oredock, the new Bayview Park Pier provides a prime place to fish or swim in the crystal clear waters of Lake Superior.  Additionally, the hillside and sidewalk leading to the pier were graded and designed to guarantee that the new structure was handicap accessible, so it could be enjoyed by all who visit.  There are few better places in Ashland to access the lake or snap a picture.
