Ashland Police Department
Ashland, WI
Split between the basement and third floor of Ashland City Hall, the Ashland Police Department was in dire need of a new, modern station from which they could protect and serve the citizens of Ashland. The new facility features approximately 10,000 square feet of offices, evidence storage and processing spaces, equipment storage, staff locker rooms and a small fitness area. Additionally, an attached 4,500 square foot garage will provide parking for eight patrol vehicles and two sallyport spaces for the safe transfer of suspects. With the city's goal of being environmentally responsible in mind, the building will feature high-efficiency mechanical equipment, locally-made triple pane H-Windows, a rooftop solar array, rain gardens and native landscaping. The site, which had formerly been a contaminated industrial lot, will also feature a public parking lot for access to the Tri-County Corridor Trail which runs next to the site.
